Louvre Charitable Foundation Supports New Mothers Initiative in Guernsey

The Louvre Charitable Foundation has provided financial support to a new initiative being run in Guernsey to support new mums.

Guernsey’s Maternity Team wanted to provide a comfort package to anyone giving birth in the island during the Covid-19 pandemic and the Louvre Charitable Foundation stepped in to help make it happen.

Due to the restrictions in place in Guernsey during the pandemic and the changes to the set-up and visiting access to the Loveridge Ward, the midwifery team felt it would be a nice to provide new mums with something extra to give them comfort during this time.

Lynne Getheridge, PEH Midwifery Clinical Lead, said: “We were delighted to have received support from the Louvre Charitable Foundation. This time is difficult for everyone but particularly new mums and we wanted to recognise that and provide something that might just give them the additional comfort they need. The feedback we have received so far has been great and we really appreciate the support.”

The Louvre Group Charitable Foundation was founded last year and is the philanthropic arm of the Louvre Group, providing much needed financial support to charitable causes in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Matthew Gilligan, Associate Director, Louvre, said: “When we were approached by the team at the hospital we thought this was a lovely initiative to get involved in and something practical we could do during this difficult time.”
