Louvre Boxes Up a Little Hope for Children in Asia

The Louvre Fund Services and Louvre Fiduciary teams in Hong Kong recently took part in the local Box of Hope appeal.

Shoe boxes are filled with useful or educational items and given to underprivileged children in Asia. School children are asked to donate gifts and put together boxes for the less fortunate and many businesses also get involved.

Louvre’s participation encouraged by Sylvia Ng, the team’s Executive PA as her son’s school was involved.

The team gathered up stationery, soap and shampoo, small games and books to fill the boxes and also donated money to the charity.  Louvre Group matched those funds to double the donation.

Last year the charity collected 24,000 boxes and distributed them to hospitals, orphanages and special schools in Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines and Nepal.

Marco Ferreira, Louvre’s Hong Kong Business Development Director, says: ‘This is a special campaign to connect to because it helps so many children across Asia. It’s very heartwarming to know that a child in Nepal or the Philippines is getting our help.

‘Louvre has always been committed to helping the communities within which it operates, and the Hong Kong office is no exception.’
